So Making Money is a Good Idea, Iron Man Boycott Off

Well it looks like the kids over at Oracle, which is promoting the movie, complained about the TechCrunch event.

From TechCrunch attorney

“He said this all arose from a misunderstanding. Paramount had not informed Marvel about your deal. Oracle had booked the theatre for a different screening at the same time. People at Oracle were upset thinking that their event was turning into a TechCrunch event and that there would be too many people, conflicts over who would get in, etc.”

Now how hard is it for Metreon staff to tell and show people to the correct screen Oracle?  It has 16 screens, might be 17 with the IMAX screen.  TechCrunch screen 3,  Oracle screen 5. See not that hard, is it?

When I was at the evil empire (AKA Microsoft) we would buy out showings all the time and other groups had showings they had paid for happening at the same time and at the same movie house.  We never got to the wrong screen.  If it is a problem for you and yours Oracle, make this an interview question.

Now it  may mean coming a little earlier, if you want to get parking at the Fifth & Mission / Yerba Buena Garage.

Now Marvel has apologized, but at the same time TechCrunch claims to have incurred  $2,000 in legal expense on top of the ticket price.

Would that money have been put to better put to use buying Iron Man T-shirts and videos games.  I know these things make the fans happier than a Cease and Desist E-mail from David Althoff

High marks to Ira Rubenstein for calling TechCrunch up and apologizing.
