Tara Hunt of Citizen Agency wrote a good read on her blog about the question I know many women get who need to be visible online - “Aren’t you afraid, as a woman, about being so open online?”

As a person who been told in e-mail and to my face that I am working for the devil, I have learned no matter how hard you try and how nice you are, some people just won’t like you. (The one problem with the Devil remark, it has been directed to different companies I have worked for or consulted for. )

I agree with Tara, the precise reason that people bully others is to shut them up. The important point to take home here I think is the openness of the relationships people need to have to do business online. Women need to must be able to as free as men to choose the degree of openness they think is appropriate to compete and work with others. Failure to do so means they will fail to advance and grow.
